Integrated Solutions to Development Needs
We recognize that sustainable development
is not a new idea. It is,
however, an excellent way of recognizing that the various development
needs of peoples and countries throughout the world are interrelated.
Such needs, therefore, must be addressed in an integrated way
that accounts for our current relationship with the environment, while
recognizing the next generation’s right to inherit a world capable of
sustaining a high quality of life.
Strategies to Sustain Quality of Life for Future Generations
In this sense, sustainable development is
development based on the premise that it is our responsibility to leave
a world where future generations can sustain a quality of life equal to
or better than the one we inherited.
We believe that if a community is to be developed in a genuinely
sustainable way, then economic development, the preservation of natural
resources, and the appreciation of unique cultural resources must all be
sustained with both short-term and long-term development strategies.
Hand-in-Hand Partnerships with Stakeholders
We work hand-in-hand with governments
across the world, local communities, universities, and industries to
address the economic, environmental, and societal issues that face each
community. The success of any partnership effort requires the primary
stakeholders to agree that building a strong sense of community
involvement is the critical first step towards achieving sustainable
development.
Developing Funding Proposals for Planning Grants and Projects
We work in partnership with you to
develop proposals for the funding support that will make it feasible to
engage all the key stakeholders in significant planning efforts.
The exact nature and scope of each planning or project proposal
will depend on a variety of local factors and conditions – including
local politics; available resources; how well all stakeholders carry out
assignments; and the unique characteristics of the partner country or
community.

A sustainable development proposal may
contain such wide-ranging issues as urban planning; waste and waste
water management; economic development, enhancing public administration;
public transportation; transportation management; trade opportunities,
natural resources management, agricultural growth and redevelopment,
biodiversity, developing new energy sources; energy conservation, air
and/or water pollution, technology infrastructure, and
tourism/destination marketing. It
is often difficult to address any one of these issues in isolation due
to the interrelated nature of sustainability.
Fees:
Fees for services
will vary according to the
complexity of the project, the number and nature of services provided by
the Global Workplace during the proposal development phase; grant
administrator role to be played after funding; and/or the role of The
Global Workplace as a participant and project partner in the grant
itself. We are willing to invest a portion of our proposal services
when we are included as a participant/partner in the project itself
(consultant, education and training manager, researcher, professional
services, technical services, etc.).
